If I’d lived my life by what others were thinkin’, the heart inside me would’ve died

I was just too stubborn to ever be governed by enforced insanity

Someone had to reach for the risin’ star, I guess it was up to me

A recently unearthed poem: Should the Soil tax the Worm?

Thou fool who fails to see
how the worm listens to the robin song
before she takes her feast?

Or should the soil tax the worm or the
blue sky charge the robin to forego her breakfast?

I am tired of the ways of man:
his economies/his perjuries.

Your coin is minted so flimsy that you cannot purchase a single breath.
you shine and fail to see your one true debt
The world spent/
on you and you alone!

This day the sun dappled May all for your expense,
this beauty sent
today now spent
how do you pay for this life's rent?
