If I’d lived my life by what others were thinkin’, the heart inside me would’ve died

I was just too stubborn to ever be governed by enforced insanity

Someone had to reach for the risin’ star, I guess it was up to me

Cross The Green Mountain
Words and music Bob Dylan
Written for the soundtrack of the film Gods And Generals (2003), released on Tell Tale Signs (2008)
Lyrics taken from communal efforts at the Pool message board; tab by Eyolf Ă˜strem

Two things are noteworthy from the guitaristic side. One is the continuously sounding -----3 (highest string, third fret), throughout most of the chords (see chord chart). The other is the bitonality of the second chord. Where I've written a G/b chord, some of the instruments play a Bm chord, which clashes with the -----3. There are some ways of approximating that on a single guitar, but none are completely satisfying; see suggestions below.
Apart from that, it's an interesting tune for three reasons: the difference between the two types of verses, which are so similar that it's hard to keep them apart, but still quite distinct; the irregular strophe structure, with the secondary verse form occurring three times, with a different number of “regular” verses in between. The third reason is more elusive, but despite its extreme simplicity, with basically the same chord sequence (Am7-G/b-C-D, reversed in the bridge) for just about every line, it still works wonderfully.
Capo 1st fret (sounding key Ab major)
Chords:
C      x32013
G/b    x20003 or x20033
Am7    x02213 or x02013
Dsus4  xx0233
Dsus2  xx0230
Cadd9  x32033
Bm     x24432 (alternative to G/b)
Bm+G/b x24433 (hard)
xx4433 (not so hard, but misses the bass note)
x20002 (easy, but misses the high -----3)
79978x (easy enough, but the move to the high position isn't ideal)

C   . . . G/b . . . Am7 . . . G     . . .
Am7 . . . G/b . . . C   . . . Dsus4 . D .

Am7                G/b      C             D
I cross the green mountain, I sit by the stream
Am7             G/b           C                  D
Heaven blazing in my head, I dreamt a monstrous dream
C          G/b     Am7        Dsus4 D Dsus2 D
Something came up out of the sea
Em                C           D            Em
Swept through the land of the rich and the free

C . . . G . . . D . . .

I look into the eyes of my merciful friend
And then i ask myself, is this the end?
Memories linger, sad yet sweet
And I think of the souls in heaven who will meet
C . . . G . . . D . . .

C           G/b          Am7            G
Altars are burning with flames far and wide
C                    G/b  Am7             Dsus4  D Dsus2  D
The foe has crossed over  from the other side
C               G/b  Am7                  G
They tip their caps  from the top of the hill
Am7                G/b        Cadd9          Dsus4 . . . D . . .
You can feel them come, more brave blood to spill
Along the dim Atlantic line
the ravaged land lies for miles behind
The light's coming forward and the streets are broad
All must yield to the avenging God

C . . . G . . C G . . .
The world is old, the world is gray
Lessons of life, can't be learned in a day
I watch and I wait, and I listen while I stand
To the music that comes from a far-better land
Close the eyes of our captain, peace may he know
His long night is done, the great leader is laid low
He was ready to fall, he was quick to defend
Killed outright he was, by his own men

C . . . G . C . G . . .

It's the last day's last hour, of the last happy year
I feel that the unknown world is so near
Pride will vanish and glory will rot
But virtue lives and cannot be forgot

C . . . G . . . D . . .

The bells of leavening have rung
There's blasphemy on every tongue
Let 'em say that I walked in fair nature's light
And that I was loyal to truth and to right

C . . . G . C . G . . .
Serve God and be cheerful, look upward, beyond
Beyond the darkness of masks, the surprises of dawn
In the deep green grasses of the blood stained world
They never dreamed of surrenderin', they fell where they stood
Stars fell over Alabama, I saw each star
You're walkin' in dreams, whoever you are
Chilled are the skies, keen as the frost
The ground's froze hard and the morning is lost

C . . . G . C . G . . .

A letter to mother came today
Gunshot wound to the breast is what it did say
But he'll be better soon, he's in a hospital bed
But he'll never be better - he's already dead

C . . . G . C . G . . .

I'm ten miles outside the city, and I'm lifted away
In an ancient light, that is not of day
They were calm, they were blunt, we knew 'em all too well
We loved each other more than we ever dared to tell

Suffering through a bout with the Flu

Now that doctors are stiff-arming patients into getting the flu shot which I denied---it makes me wonder if their allegiance isn't more toward the Pharma than the citizen-patients that they face in their practice. An unwise move if you ask me, but hey, wisdom isn't the  AMAs strong suit---something derelict happens in the soul when doctors get rich off of other people's sickness---something is off kilter here!

Be that as it may, during my recuperation in bed I had a chance to review the 9/11 evidence on Youtube and the Truthers are definitely gaining the lead. Putin evidently has satellite evidence of malfeasance, so no wonder the iron man of the Kremlin is unpopular in the 'soyedenny shtatov' and Edward Snowden looks more and more like an apostle of free thinking and free speech, those beautiful birds that fled the iron cage of Cheney/Bush tyranny.

Though I don't like Alex Jones' heavy handed style, he lacks intellectual subtlety (but I respect his freethinking), he does manage to get the focus on the nefarious villains who bend and manipulate truth and honor---I mean the usual suspects---Mossad, the Bilderburgers, Israeli nationals infiltrating top US government posts, FEMA and all of those accursed acronyms so beloved by the Soviets! Bono sings "you become the monster so the monster won't devour you." The US morphs into the terrorist it so greatly fears and it only wounds itself.

Walmarts being gutted, brutal gulag style police gunning down unarmed black youths because of the color of their skin with zero recrimination, military insiders running ethics compliance programs at major state universities---talk about the blind leading the blind! The 21st century is as grave disappointment---essential american values and freedoms being rejected tout court from the grocery store , to the local Sheetz store where they must scan the license for a simple 6 pack purchase. Homeland Security-the worst nightmare imaginable--not one documented piece of evidence that can show that anyone is safer or more secure. But after all authentic american citizens to quote Benjamin Franklin are not eager to sacrifice their liberty for security---unless it is in Hollywood or the so-called entertainment world---pornosec to the bone and zero talent to be found---illuminati celebrities chanting vile satanic mantras and flashing the symbols of secret societies, the very thing that runs counter to all american virtue and the honor of the common men and women who do not lie and cheat and steal to fulfill their ambitions and get rich quick and drive shiny cars and drool over royalty and the lifestyles of the rich and famous.

Not to mention the over the top delusional claims made by computer companies to make a smarter planet---demonstrate one iota of evidence of this so-called improvement in thinking! How blind do you have to be not to realize that the emperor wears no clothes? Education is in shambles from the online k-12 and all the way up to the Ivy League.  The brain drain needs to be redefined---it happens whenever you take any direction from the Department of Education or in universities which kowtow to accreditation boards, fully staffed with uncultured bureaucrats who despise freethinking but wear Socrates T-shirts and call their online corporations names like Plato or Aristotle because that's the only philosophy they can name.

Current Musings: Thanksgiving 2015

I am ever grateful to the Lord for the truth revealed in his son Jesus Christ, and his continued revelations to me through his holy spirit!

Soldiers in Vietnam often remarked that a good day was one abover ground. In this treacherous period of history---America's most challenging time: internal enemies running Washington, a diabolic military that has morphed into a fully grown police state, NWO and Bilderburg puppeteers who despise humanity for its humanness. The Enemy working overtime in his usual role as murderer, liar and thief --- no longer clandestine but "-hidden in plain sight" just like the demolition of WTC7, or or under the guise of FEMA,  NSA, and DHS: a truly unholy trinity, despising all truly American values, the US equivalent of the Soviet NKVD.

When will our citizens read the writing on the wall? A superficial reading of the Declaration of Independence makes eminently clear that Liberty is a God-given gift---to all souls born into the material world. I give thanks to my Creator for my life and liberty, so I give credit where credit is due! To suggest that I owe some debt to the state for this liberty is absurd.

Every US citizen is above the law according to the declaration, no senator or policeman or FEMA chief or even the president of the US may demand or deserve my allegiance. I am bound by the constitution, no matter how reviled by the ruling politicians, to resist enemies, especially the traitors who soil virtue, honor and courage, the very thing so many men gave their lives to defend in the Ia Drang Valley, in the Mekong River Delta, and in Khe San.

9/11: Already 'Ancient' History for Atlantic Magazine

Click for article...

The magazine writer considers 9/11 to be ancient history---which is convenient for men like George W. Bush or Condoleeza Rice, it makes it easier to reveal incrementally more disturbing evidence of the White House's apathy toward bona fide warnings concerning the 9/11 attacks.

"There’s a retired businessman named Red Cast down from heaven and he’s out of his head He feeds off of everyone that he can touch He said he only deals in cash or sells tickets to a plane crash...." Bob Dylan, Foot of Pride

Like the lion tears the flesh off of a man
So can a woman who passes herself off as a male
They sang “Danny Boy” at his funeral and the Lord’s Prayer
Preacher talking ’bout Christ betrayed
It’s like the earth just opened and swallowed him up
He reached too high, was thrown back to the ground
You know what they say about bein’ nice to the right people on the way up
Sooner or later you gonna meet them comin’ down
Well, there ain’t no goin’ back
When your foot of pride come down
Ain’t no goin’ back
Hear ya got a brother named James, don’t forget faces or names
Sunken cheeks and his blood is mixed
He looked straight into the sun and said revenge is mine
But he drinks, and drinks can be fixed
Sing me one more song, about ya love me to the moon and the stranger
And your fall-by-the sword love affair with Errol Flynn
In these times of compassion when conformity’s in fashion
Say one more stupid thing to me before the final nail is driven in.
Well, there ain’t no goin’ back
When your foot of pride come down
Ain’t no goin’ back
There’s a retired businessman named Red
Cast down from heaven and he’s out of his head
He feeds off of everyone that he can touch
He said he only deals in cash or sells tickets to a plane crash
He’s not somebody that you play around with much
Miss Delilah is his, a Phillistine is what she is
She’ll do wondrous works with your fate, feed you coconut bread,
spice buns in your bed
If you don’t mind sleepin’ with your head face down in a grave
Well, there ain’t no goin’ back
When your foot of pride come down
Ain’t no goin’ back
Well, they’ll choose a man for you to meet tonight
You’ll play the fool and learn how to walk through doors
How to enter into the gates of paradise
No, how to carry a burden too heavy to be yours
Yeah, from the stage they’ll be tryin’ to get water outa rocks
A whore will pass the hat, collect a hundred grand and say thanks
They like to take all this money from sin, build big universities to study in
Sing “Amazing Grace” all the way to the Swiss banks
Well, there ain’t no goin’ back
When your foot of pride come down
Ain’t no goin’ back
They got some beautiful people out there, man
They can be a terror to your mind and show you how to hold your tongue
They got mystery written all over their forehead
They kill babies in the crib and say only the good die young
They don’t believe in mercy
Judgement on them is something that you’ll never see
They can exalt you up or bring you down main route
Turn you into anything that they want you to be
Well, there ain’t no goin’ back
When your foot of pride come down
Ain’t no goin’ back
Yes, I guess I loved him too
I can still see him in my mind climbin’ that hill
Did he make it to the top, well he probably did and dropped
Struck down by the strength of the will
Ain’t nothin’ left here partner, just the dust of a plague
that has left this whole town afraid
From now on, this’ll be where you’re from
Let the dead bury the dead. Your time will come
Let hot iron blow as he raised the shade
Well, there ain’t no goin’ back
When your foot of pride come down
Ain’t no goin’ back

The WHO: Punk Meets the Godfather

The Punk Meets the Godfather

PUNK:
You declared you would be three inches taller
You only became what we made you
Thought you were chasing a destiny calling
You only earned what we gave you
You fell and cried as our people were starving
Now you know that we blame you
You tried to walk on the trail we were carving
Now you know that we framed you

G.F.:
I'm the guy in the sky
Flying high Flashing eyes
No surprise I told lies
I'm the punk in the gutter
I'm the new president
But I grew and I bent
Don't you know? don't it show?
I'm the punk with the stutter
My my my my my mmmm my my my

GGGGG-g-g-g-g generation

PUNK:
We tried to speak between lines of oration
You could only repeat what we told you
Your axe belongs to a dying nation
They don't know that we own you
You're watching movies trying to find the feelers
You only see what we show you
We're the slaves of the phony leaders
Breathe the air we have blown you

G.F.:
I'm the guy etc.

I have to be careful not to preach
I can't pretend that I can teach
And yet I've lived your future out
By pounding stages like a clown
And on the dance floor broken glass
The bloody faces slowly pass
The broken seats in empty rows
It all belongs to me you know

PUNK:
You declared etc.

Mom Protests Fracking Near School in MArs, PA

The Crunchkin take on Fracking has been made clear before---but I wish to state that Fracking is corrupt, illegal, anti-nature, based on falsely derived scientific principles and is just plain stupid.

a)Corrupt because it took a false governor (Tom Corbett) who is no friend to Pennsylvania to get fracking into the Keystone State.
b)illegal-because it does not meet the minimum standards of the--- Clean air and water act which was bypassed in the Cheney Loophole of '05.
c)Fracking is a direct violation of nature---
d)there are no studies which demonstrate that fracking is safe in any respect, and the so-called scientists who endorse it have done so for reasons of collusion and are shills.
e) companies like Rex Energy are shameful and so full of wanton greed, that they can invest millions of dollars into an apocalyptic undertaking winner take all without any ethical or moral consideration for the citizens rights.

Revelation Chapter 8:
10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as if it were a lamp, and it fell upon a third part of the rivers and upon the fountains of waters;
11 and the name of the star is called Wormwood. And a third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died from the waters, because they were made bitter.
